Transition to Farnham Heath End

PRIMARY TRANSITION FROM YEAR 6 INTO YEAR 7

We believe a smooth and positive transition from primary to secondary school is essential for a child’s success and well-being.

At Farnham Heath End School (FHES), we aim to make this transition an exciting and supportive experience. Our goal is for every student to:

  • Enjoy their time at FHES.
  • Build strong friendships.
  • Take advantage of a wide range of opportunities.
  • Make excellent progress in their learning.
  • Leave with happy memories and confidence for the future.

To ensure a seamless move to FHES, we:

  • Hold informal tours of the school buildings and facilities for parents/carers and children.
  • Visit partner primary schools to meet Year 6 students and their teachers.
  • Hold information session for parents and students.
  • Welcome children to FHES for two transition days in early July.
  • Hold a Transition Induction meeting.

Our support continues once students start in September:

  • We organise a team-building day in the autumn term.
  • Our pastoral team stays in close contact to ensure every child feels happy and confident.
  • We provide ongoing support to help students settle in and thrive at FHES.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email us at transition@fhes.org.uk

We will be asking all upcoming students to complete an All About Me form.  The link will be added shortly.
